Radiance Revived: a Serene Escape at Thai Square Spa in Central London
Amidst the hustle and bustle of this lively festive season, there’s truly nothing more rejuvenating than pausing for a moment to indulge in a serene and pampering experience. Recently, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the tranquil oasis of Thai Square Spa, an exquisite boutique spa located in the heart of central London on Northumberland Avenue, just a three-minute walk from both Charing Cross and Embankment tube stations.
Thai Square Spa is a sumptuous haven offering a myriad of luxurious treatments and therapies in peaceful and elegant surroundings. The spa provides everything from traditional Thai massages to expert facials, skin-brightening scrubs, detoxifying wraps, and diverse ritual treatments. Additionally, it boasts facilities such as a Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and Himalayan salt room. There are also a host of different packages available including couples, maternity, bride-to-be and gentlemen.
Originally a Victorian Turkish bath, the grand building’s rich history has inspired an eclectic décor that incorporates Thai, Roman, and Turkish influences, indulging every sense. The walls are adorned with the luminous grandeur of Thai silks and gold-adorned murals, complemented by intricate traditional wood carvings.
Upon arrival, I filled in a short consultation form before being escorted to the changing rooms on the ground floor. There, I was provided with a locker, a towelling robe, and flip-flops. The treatment rooms, located in the dimly lit basement accessible via a majestic staircase, also house a restful relaxation area with comfy loungers surrounded by white pillars.
Opting for a 60-minute Ultra Glow Facial to prepare for the upcoming Christmas festivities, I found myself in the capable hands of my therapist, Jane. In the treatment room, she presented me with a soothing cup of aromatic house speciality bale fruit tea, which I enjoyed while she gently bathed my feet in warm water.
The facial was a pleasure from start to finish, seamlessly blending ancient techniques with modern practices. Using delicately fragranced Frank and Rose products, Jane commenced with a thorough cleansing of my face. This sensory journey continued with an invigorating scrub, leading to what can only be described as the most heavenly face, neck, and head massage I’ve ever experienced. A rejuvenating face mask and a soothing foot massage followed. As the treatment gracefully concluded, a gentle moisturiser was delicately applied, leaving me with a radiant and refreshed complexion.
Before venturing into the busy streets of London, I enjoyed a welcome period of relaxation with a choice of water or bale fruit tea. This treatment was a delightful indulgence, and my skin noticeably glowed. Whether you’re shopping, working, or visiting London, Thai Square Spa offers the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
